Potatoes (commonly referred to Taters) Every potato used at Clancy’s is a real potato, washed & peeled in house. We tried the bag-o-mash from the suppliers as well as the dehydrated ones. We tried frozen fries and chips, we found what they did to the Trans Fat Free Oil (ZTF) was not healthy for the chicken or fish (fried in the same fryer). Because of that we slice, we rinse & drop them into 350* ZTF oil till they turn into our golden chips. Until we can find a French fry that will meet our standards… just home made chips. Our baked potatoes are a little different from your usually baked tuber. Ours is a twice bake. Our mashed are made every day at least once. Yes you will find lumps in them. Every now and then even a small piece of peel is found in them. Milk and European blend butter brings out the true tuber flavor, only a good mashed spud can provide. Our Clancy’s Taters are spuds baked at 400 degrees for 40 minutes then cooled till they get sliced and fried in a little bacon grease with garlic, salt and pepper sprinkled in. Just like Dad used to do every Saturday morning. How do you like yours? With onions, green peppers…you have got to let your server know, or your taste buds will not let you forget.
